How to find Roku IP address

As you may know you can find the Roku IP address by looking at the Roku Settings->PalyerInfo->IP address.
and you may also noticed my earlier post regarding using an Webapp http://www.apps4tv.com/remoku/ to control Roku.

But what if you lost your remote or it is not near to you. I am following this simple trial and error process.
Most of the times my Roku IP address  dynamically changing to one of these IP addresses for my eHome wireless G router.
192.168.0.101
192.168.0.102
192.168.0.103
192.168.0.104
192.168.0.105

If you are not switching off the Roku device then the IP address wont be changing.

    I lost my roku remote and i downloaded roku on my android phone...but its asking for IP address of my roku dvp... where do i find that.. thanks and any help will be great.

    I figured out the issue..... On your computer go to network and sharing center. You will see your computer, your network, and the internet. Click on your network. Once inside your router, your computer will see the roku player. Click on it and you'll see the ip address and mac address. All the info that you will need. Make sure network discovery is on.

    Drew, thank you so much! My kiddos lost the remote for their Roku and we have turned the house upside down trying to find it! I was a little worried about having the money for a new remote until payday. I found a free app for my phone but it needed the IP address. Your tip helped me find it and now I can rest easy until payday!

    My computer will not detect the roku. My remote I downloaded on my iPhone is telling me I need the Roku IP address. My dog destroyed the original. Just upgraded to uverse with ATT and now my remote does not work.

      Yep- my rotten little pup ate the remote yesterday- I'm in the exact same pickle- I can't see to find the roku IP required to sync it with my roku controller Iphone app.

    Thank you drew it worked. For those who couldn't find there roku player in your network. Try this go to desktop and look for file explorer, open it.On the left of the pop up screen you will see network icon on the bottom left. Click on it and it will show you your network ,your computer and roku player. sometimes your roku player wont show,so you have to set up a new connection or network.click on it and add your roku player.once you roku player is found click on it and it will give you your ip address.

    I changed the password to my wifi and now my Roku won't connect with my remote that I downloaded on all of my phones & tablet because the original remote stopped working. What can I do to fix this? I've tried every IP address I can think of. Uhhh please say you can help! I'm desperate at this point....

    Okay. It works sometimes, but not other times. Roku ip not changing.

    Why does native remote work all the time, but droid needs the ip, which may or may not allow device control.

    Why does a scan not work, but manually typing ip work half the time?

    If you don't have an ethernet cord like me, you can download a universal remote app (Sure Universal worked for me). From there you can change the wifi on the roku. Then, you will be able to access the roku app which is easier to use. If it can't find the device, do manual. It will ask for the IP which will be under the wifi section of the roku. Both devices have to be under the same wifi in order to work. Good luck! Worked for me!

      I bought this roku 2 from a friend. It came with just the device. How do I find the IP address to set up the mobile remote app? I have no way to control the roku. Yet no way to find the ip address to set up the remote app

    I have a roku streaming stick. My roku remote does not work. I can use my android phone as a remote, but it can't find my roku. I am trying to connect manually and located my ip address but can't find my roku ip address. Since I can't get to settings, because the remote doesn't work, how can I find the roku ip address?

    I downloaded the remote control app. It asks for tne Roku IP address. I don't have the IP address because my roku is not connected to the internet. Since I don't have a remote, I cannot get into Settings and connect to the internet. What am Imissing here?

    I am having similar problems. Downloaded the Roku App. Registered account, etc. wants my Roku IP address. I get the home screen but it says not connected so I can't scroll down to settings or anywhere. How the heck do I get the IP address the same as my phone- Oy Vey! Please help

    Hello, can I watch Rocku just on my PC? Do I still need a TV? I can see the Roku Device on my wifi networks (I plugged in the PC's HDMI) and I downloaded two apps in mi windows 10 pc I type the rocku's IP but It says that cannot connect. My TV doesn't work so I can't see the menu on the TV screen.

    I'm having the exact same problems here, but none of the answers worked for me. I tried the router stuff to look for the IP address but couldn't find anything :(
    Is there any other way to get it, like using your roku's username or something?

    Guys, the simple solution is to type in your address i.e. 192.168...and go into your router settings to wireless and change the new SSID and password to the old one on your last router. Now you can use a phone app if you don't have a remote.

      I tried all solutions on the internet that i can find. I changed my ssid and pswd to what it was and i am still not able to connect using remoku or ANY universal remote. Roku is NO help i dont know what to do i am lost i dont know how to find the ip address to manually enter it into the roku app. the remoku app also will not find the roku, but on all tablets and computers roku is recognized in the wifi section. i have been working on this issue for many hours 5 yesterday and already 3 today and still have no answers. I hamve found all kinds of info out but none of it works. HELP PLZ.

      roku streaming stick is too i have been stuck for 8 hours trying All possible solutions everyone is saying to do and nothing works i switched the ssid and pswd back to the old and nothing. all this because windstream had to give me a new router when there was nothing wrong with the other.

    I know this is a late response but as others have mentioned if you turn on mobile Hotspot and rename it to the last connected network in the roku the roku or roku tv will connect and then you can use the roku app or any other universal app. It took me two hours to figure out the correct spaces and spelling of old network. I ended up going to my mac to see saved connections where I found the correct spelling. Happy I don't have to buy a remote.

      This issue with this and please do correct me if I am wrong is that in order to use the roku app it self you have to be connected to WiFi other than your phones network on your phone so connection to a Hotspot on the same phone will not work if that makes sense.

    I have a roku device, I lost my remote, so I downloaded the Roju app and was using it on the home wifi. Now I've moved and no longer have the same wifi. I can't connect my roku since I lost my remote control, and the app won't connect because they need the same wifi. I no Longer have access to that wifi. Nor does my android habe the remote control capability, so I cannot download a universal app. Can someone help me??

    This is great information...
    The most obvious step to take is replacing the old batteries in case you discover Roku Remote Not Working issue. This may troubleshoot your problem with ease.
