As you may know you can find the Roku IP address by looking at the Roku Settings->PalyerInfo->IP address.
and you may also noticed my earlier post regarding using an Webapp http://www.apps4tv.com/remoku/ to control Roku.
But what if you lost your remote or it is not near to you. I am following this simple trial and error process.
Most of the times my Roku IP address dynamically changing to one of these IP addresses for my eHome wireless G router.
192.168.0.101
192.168.0.102
192.168.0.103
192.168.0.104
192.168.0.105
If you are not switching off the Roku device then the IP address wont be changing.
I lost my roku remote and i downloaded roku on my android phone...but its asking for IP address of my roku dvp... where do i find that.. thanks and any help will be great.

DeleteNow easily find roku ip address
Check your ip address
ReplyDeleteWhat is your ip address
I figured out the issue..... On your computer go to network and sharing center. You will see your computer, your network, and the internet. Click on your network. Once inside your router, your computer will see the roku player. Click on it and you'll see the ip address and mac address. All the info that you will need. Make sure network discovery is on.
ReplyDeleteMot seeing any thing for some reason doesnt work for my cumputer

DeleteWhere can I find my ip adress
ReplyDeleteI lost my Roku remote guys but I can't get the ip eddress with out it.--is there another way to get the address from the tv
ReplyDeleteOkay. It works sometimes, but not other times. Roku ip not changing.
ReplyDeleteWhy does native remote work all the time, but droid needs the ip, which may or may not allow device control.
Why does a scan not work, but manually typing ip work half the time?
Well, the scan works every blue moon.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have an ethernet cord like me, you can download a universal remote app (Sure Universal worked for me). From there you can change the wifi on the roku. Then, you will be able to access the roku app which is easier to use. If it can't find the device, do manual. It will ask for the IP which will be under the wifi section of the roku. Both devices have to be under the same wifi in order to work. Good luck! Worked for me!
ReplyDeleteThis is so creepy. I had *just* sat down to Google how to resolve this exact problem, when I landed on this page and found your advice all the way at the bottom of the many comments I read. THANK YOU! Got it taken care of immediately! I don't know how it is that the only answer that would work for me happened to be posted just a few hours before I went looking for it, but, oh interwebs, you are a thing of amazing.
DeleteI bought this roku 2 from a friend. It came with just the device. How do I find the IP address to set up the mobile remote app? I have no way to control the roku. Yet no way to find the ip address to set up the remote app
DeleteDid you ever find a solution to this?

ReplyDeleteHi, I am the VP Marketing at Tekoia. We develop the SURE Universal remote app which was mentioned above by livvy05. We would really like to make our app as easy to use as the Roku app, so if any of you would like to give us input we would really appreciate it. We believe that all your remotes should be available in one app. If you would like to share your thoughts feel free to write to us at support@tekoia.com.
ReplyDeleteI have a roku streaming stick. My roku remote does not work. I can use my android phone as a remote, but it can't find my roku. I am trying to connect manually and located my ip address but can't find my roku ip address. Since I can't get to settings, because the remote doesn't work, how can I find the roku ip address?
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the remote control app. It asks for tne Roku IP address. I don't have the IP address because my roku is not connected to the internet. Since I don't have a remote, I cannot get into Settings and connect to the internet. What am Imissing here?
ReplyDeleteI am having similar problems. Downloaded the Roku App. Registered account, etc. wants my Roku IP address. I get the home screen but it says not connected so I can't scroll down to settings or anywhere. How the heck do I get the IP address the same as my phone- Oy Vey! Please help

ReplyDeleteI need an instruction to find my Roku Stick IP Address?
ReplyDeleteGuys, the simple solution is to type in your address i.e. 192.168...and go into your router settings to wireless and change the new SSID and password to the old one on your last router. Now you can use a phone app if you don't have a remote.
ReplyDeleteI tried all solutions on the internet that i can find. I changed my ssid and pswd to what it was and i am still not able to connect using remoku or ANY universal remote. Roku is NO help i dont know what to do i am lost i dont know how to find the ip address to manually enter it into the roku app. the remoku app also will not find the roku, but on all tablets and computers roku is recognized in the wifi section. i have been working on this issue for many hours 5 yesterday and already 3 today and still have no answers. I hamve found all kinds of info out but none of it works. HELP PLZ.

ReplyDeleteokay but that isn't a simple solution if you don't know your last IP address, so that doesn't help at all!
ReplyDeleteroku 2 is CRAP without remote.. I'm addicted to my roku cable sucks ....and we have everything..hbo , showtime,ex.. I'm bored...guess I'll read a book. Better anyways...lol
ReplyDeleteroku streaming stick is too i have been stuck for 8 hours trying All possible solutions everyone is saying to do and nothing works i switched the ssid and pswd back to the old and nothing. all this because windstream had to give me a new router when there was nothing wrong with the other.
DeleteI know this is a late response but as others have mentioned if you turn on mobile Hotspot and rename it to the last connected network in the roku the roku or roku tv will connect and then you can use the roku app or any other universal app. It took me two hours to figure out the correct spaces and spelling of old network. I ended up going to my mac to see saved connections where I found the correct spelling. Happy I don't have to buy a remote.
ReplyDeleteThis issue with this and please do correct me if I am wrong is that in order to use the roku app it self you have to be connected to WiFi other than your phones network on your phone so connection to a Hotspot on the same phone will not work if that makes sense.
DeleteThank you dear to see https://goipaddress.tumblr.com/.My remote control is not working and I was struggling to find the IP address. Your tip was so simple and helped me a lot.
